Dinner with the Pups - Fish Tacos July 17, 2007
So, I cooked Fish Tacos tonight with some of the Pups using my Uncle Dave’s Fish Taco Batter Recipe. It turned out rather good. Its super easy and very much white trash but so so good. The batter consists of one small box of pancake batter and two standard bottles of beer. Thats it. It works for most types of fish, we used tilapia and basa (a Vietnamese fresh water fish) and the flavor of both types of fish was apparent but not overpowering in the taco.
Also for fixins i made some fresh salsa and guacamole while doctoring up some taqueria bought rice and beans. Pony found this great recipe for Watermelon Juice with Fleur de Sel and we made up some of that and it paired very well with the light fish tacos. Overall a great summery meal that was perfect for watching D-list.
